How to make pizza thin crust?

As a personal preference, I like thin crust pizza over thick and chewy crust pizza. I think it has an amazing pizza flavor that is perfect for my taste buds. I also prefer thin crust pizza to the “thick” and bubbly pan pizzas you can buy in commercial restaurants. For me, there is no better dinner than a yummy thin crust pizza with a cold glass of beer. Since pizzas are one of the most popular dishes in the world, many individuals would like to know how to make their own personal pizza dough at home without going through all the trouble of rolling out dough with flour or waiting for it rise before adding toppings.

Making a Thin Crust Pizza

2 cups of flour

1 cup of water

2 Tbsp. of oil

2 tsp. of sugar

1 tsp. of yeast

Pizza dough Recipe to make thin crust: Take a cup of warm water, add 2 tablespoons sugar and a tablespoon of yeast to the mixture. With a mixer or your hands, mix water and yeast in the flour until it is dissolved completely to make the dough easy to form into a ball. The resulting dough should be sticky, not dry. Pizza dough balls should look like this after mixing. If you have the desire to eat pizza the way the it is made, you can add toppings and bake it in a hot oven.

However, if you prefer your dough to be more thin, you can skip adding any toppings during preparation and use the finished dough for later use. I personally don’t like topping on my pizza since I think it takes away from its flavor as a whole. But if you do like toppings, perhaps too much of them will make your pizza soggy, so be careful if some toppings are too liquidy and soft. You can always add them again when they cool down after baking.

FAQs about pizza crust

1) How much dough is needed to make a 12 inch pizza?
This is dependent on the style of the resulting thin crust pizza. You can use less dough if you are going to cook your pizza right away using your oven. But if you want to prepare dough for later use, it depends on how thin you want your crust to be. I like my pizza with a thin crust and barely any toppings.

2) How many servings are in 1 pound of pizza dough?
Since there is no standard serving size for personal pizzas, it is hard to say how many servings you can make out of 1 pound of pizza dough. For a regular sized thin crust pizza, I would say 2 or 3 people can share this and feel full. The amount doesn’t matter as much because it all depends on your appetite.

3) How can you freeze pizza dough?
There are a lot of ways to freeze pizza dough. You can either have it thawed out before you use it or have it frozen already. If you want to thaw it out instead, just let the fridge overnight and take it out in the morning when ready to use. It will be ready for baking that same day. If you want to freeze your dough before baking, all you have to do is spread the dough on a layer of parchment paper and wrap it with plastic wrap.

4) When to use fresh flour versus dried?
For pizza dough, it is best to use fresh flour that is not too old. Old flour can easily result in a cardboard like taste and a hard dough. If you don’t have access to fresh flour, try your best to get the freshest available in your area.

5) Can you freeze leftover pizza?
You can always freeze leftover pizza as long as you let it cool first before putting it in the freezer.
